No hi ha cap sorpresa, són els refranys de sempre, potser perquè ara no en generem o, si en generem, ningú no se n’adona, i estan agrupats temàticament: el temps, el món i el born, l’escola, les cases, l’alegria i la tristor, i la festa. Cada refrany va acompanyat d’una il·lustració que generalment ajuda a la comprensió de la dita, però que de vegades hi fa una mirada irònica o hi fa broma. Pot sorprendre trobar refranys que ens han arribat en castellà, però que tenen la seva equivalència de fons i de forma en català: «Cada mestre té el seu llibre» / «Cada maestrillo, su librillo», o bé «De músic, boig i poeta, tots en tenim una miqueta» / «De sabio poeta y loco, todos tenemos un poco». I és que hi ha refranys que són propis d’un espai geogràfic concret, però no de tot el domini lingüístic del català. És bo que, de tant en tant, surti algun nou llibre amb reculls de parla popular, pel que té de tradició, de riquesa lingüística, de saviesa popular, de sonoritat… que ens aporti valor lingüístic afegit i que doni color a aquesta, massa sovint, trista, dissortada i maltractada llengua.
